Macusa (Part 1)
The Magical Congress of the United States of America or as we also know it, as MACUSA, was established in 1693 following the International Statute of Wizarding Secrecy. Wizards and witches all over the world thought that their lives would be happier and freer if they built an underground community. And that feeling was strong due to the recent Salem Witch Trials. Representatives from all over North America were elected to MACUSA to create and enforce law that protects the right of wizards. MACUSA was modeled on the Wizards’ Council of Great Britain, which came before the Ministry of Magic. MACUSA’s primary aim was to get rid of wizards who hunted their fellow wizards for their own gain. Their second aim was to enforce laws against the criminal wizards who fled to America from Europe and other countries because of lack of laws in America compared to their own.
